At A.T. Kearney, we pride ourselves not only on our ability to work hard for our clients, but also on our commitment to celebrating successes together. Throughout the year, we have a number of social events that brings the firm together and enriches the A.T. Kearney culture. Here are our 2014 social activities.
Christmas Party Melbourne 2014
This year we have decided to thank our significant others, support staff and consultants by taking them to jail. We had our delicious food and drinks while watching for the shadows of Ned Kelly and his companions. The atmosphere became very relaxed when the Melbourne Partners sadly left the party and where replaced by a group of inmates.
Christmas Party Sydney 2014
It was all aboard for this year’s Christmas party as the Sydney office took to the water at circular quay for a cruise around the harbour. The easterly wind was not enough to ruin the rooftop views of the bridge and Opera House although at times it did get the best of our sailors hats. Our PAS guys took home the best dressed award as a motley crew of first mates and our partners stole the show on the dance floor thanks to our enthusiastic house DJ.
For the October Quarterly Event the Sydney office strolled down to Darling Harbour for an afternoon of tenpin bowling, karaoke and pizza. As expected, with a room full of consultants bowling was a little competitive as teams checked out each other’s scores and brushed up on their bowling skills. We had the professionals that made it look like a piece of cake, those who started out in the gutter but ended up with pulling out a few surprise strikes and then a couple that looked like human pendulums as they tried to swing a heavy ball down the lane. But after a few drinks everyone let down their hair as we moved to one of the karaoke rooms and were transported back in time to some old pop favourites. Let’s just say we most certainly know who sings in the shower in the Sydney office!
For one of the quarterly events in Melbourne, consultants headed down to the racing track and embraced their inner rev-heads at go karting! While the atmosphere was friendly at the BBQ dinner, the competition was fierce on the track. The final race for the consultants with the fastest times was very close and also featured some spectacular crashes! At the end of the day, trophies and medals were awarded to the winners, as well as a prize for the ‘safest’ driver.
A group of consultants, partners and clients cruised their way to Flemington Racecourse to enjoy Oaks Day. Fashion, bubbly and a few punts were the order of day and there were even a few lucky winners! Many were keen to continue the festivities and went on to the official after party at Crown.
The glamour and glitz was brought to the A.T. Kearney office on Casino Night. Everyone was given chips to play and many tried their luck at Black Jack and Roulette, while enjoying a cocktail from the barman. Top players from the leader board progressed to the final Black Jack showdown, which was an entertaining show for all!
In March, Melbourne consultants hopped on a boat to enjoy a river cruise down the Yarra. It was a great afternoon to catch up with colleagues over a drink and some canapés, while taking in the sights of the city and the suburbs.
