Andrew Thomas Kearney started this firm in Chicago in 1926. He established and and maintained a major consulting presence from the Chicago base for 35 years until opening an additional location in the USA in 1961. Our first branch office outside of the USA was opened in Europe in 1964.

Today, more than 80 years later, A.T. Kearney has over 50 offices in 35 countries. We employee over 2,500 staff globally, as part of an independent, privately owned management consultancy.

The legacy of Tom Kearney continues to shape our approach to business today. Our founder was committed to leaving the world a better place than he found it. His way of doing that was to be courageous, intellectually honest, and objective – to tell clients what they needed to hear for their own best interest, even if it was uncomfortable. These timeless principles helped establish the rigourous analytical grounding and collaborative working style which differentiates A.T. Kearney today.
